[budget]

big news. i'm moving out again. EVENTUALLY. i mean i would gladly move to slc tomorrow if i could.  i love living at home and seeing family, but i love friends in salt lake. so if the house that my friends and i had a move-in date for hadn't fallen through (i'm bitter) then i would be there as of june 1. hello ksl classifieds, i'm back on the hunt.

this will be my 3rd time moving out and i am 100% responsible for all finances. so i made a budget. and it's hard...even though i haven't started it yet, i can tell it's hard :/ i'll start it when i move out. the truth of it wasn't hitting me until i got THIS email. memorial day weekend sale at anthropologie + $50/month shopping budget = NOT good. maybe i can buy a candle. that's on sale. and damaged. sold as is.
i wish i was a trust fund baby.

[temple]

this morning lauren hedin picks me up. i'm not ready. we almost go to bountiful, then she decides to go to salt lake. then we miss the exit. then we can't find a parking spot. then her defrost stops working so we're stranded. then we finally make it into the slc temple. then we see two men in black suits. then we see a man with an earpiece like an fbi agent. then he tells us to wait in the hallway of the temple. then we see president monson, eyering, and uchtdorf walk by. then they waved at us and were so cute! then we cried. thanks to an odd sequence of events it was a great morning :)

she took this pic, she's great.

[we met online]

it's cool to meet someone that you blog-stalk, but also a big strange.  you're kind of nervous that you know too much about them before you actually know......them. but it's fine! my uncle is now friends with a guy who started following him on twitter and coincidentally moved into his neighborhood. so online friendships are fine! online relationships on the other hand......eh. i don't know if that's necessarily up my alley.

my friend amanda went to dixie and met tehya her freshman year.
tehya became my friend.
tehya went to dixie her sophomore year and met haylie.
and now haylie is my friend!
and she blogs!
and her blog is cute. go check it out.
stole the pic from her, we're even fb friends now.

[FB]

the downfalls/embarrassing/weird things of facebook (yes, they do exist):

  • when you get online for 3 seconds to see if there's anyone you want to chat with...and someone you quite frankly don't want to chat with sends you, "hey!!"
  • looking up someone you're getting lined up with before actually meeting them in real life.
  • typing someone's name in the "what's on your mind" box instead of the search box and NEARLY pressing share. creeping unveiled.
  • facebook chat on your phone if you forget to go offline. you realize at the end of the day that you have looked like an addict alllll day long being online like that.
  • the fact that you know you get on first thing in the morning and right before bed. aka scripture study time? that's bad.
  • always being nervous that the "who views your profile the most" is true.
  • knowing facts about someone's fiance like where they're from, what they're studying, where they're studying, their political views, their birthday, where they work, and their religion....but they have no idea who you are.
  • the fact that facebook used to be my homepage. i had to change that, now it's just a bookmark. and a top site :/
  • discussing facebook outside of facebook. it's always hilarious, but you feel like an idiot.
  • the people who tell you "news" like they know it first-hand when you, in fact saw it on somebody's wall 10 minutes before.
  • dramatic statuses that you know are directed at people.
  • fb mobile. are we that addicted?
  • starting a conversation with someone only to see they go "idle" where is that conversation floating now?
  • "liking" pages just because someone you like "likes it. now you'll have more things in common.
  • i hate it when i'm up to date on the "most recent" tab of my newsfeed.
  • i feel like i must have some responsibilities in life when my newsfeed "most recent" is 300+!
  • poking is weird.
  • being invited to weddings that you otherwise wouldn't be if facebook didn't have "events".
  • wondering what the complete thought process is of someone who doesn't have a facebook?
    • what do they do with their time?
  • friend requests from someone you don't know.
  • knowing ahead of time what someone is telling you in person because you saw it on facebook.
  • meeting people on facebook. it's not eharmony.
  • the people who claim to have not met on facebook even though they did.
  • knowing within 10 minutes of the time someone became engaged.
  • being up to date on relationship statuses of people from high school that you will never speak to again or never have.

and this is just too true. hilare.
